Some of the scholars regarded using the names of angels (peace be upon them) as makrooh. Giving angels’ names to women is clearly haraam, because it implies imitation of the mushrikeen, who thought that the angels were the daughters of Allaah. Exalted be He above what they say!

Asalamu alaikum,

I didn't know Ayah was a name, I like that :)

For girls names I like...'Aisha and Mu'minah (I might take one of these names :) inshaAllah) and Khadijah and Ruqayyah.
For boys names...Muhammad:) and I like lots of the prophets names, Musa, Isa, ooh and I like Abdullah as well.

Sara, Asma, Hajar, Bilqees, Aisha, Khadija...

Thats 13 boys and 6 girls inshaALLAH :) and there are more beautiful names as well!!! such as Saam and Haam- the names of the two sons of Noah (PBUH)... forgot the third sons name!

yes its a girls name.. and it says in the quran one of the ayats.. cnt remeber where .. and sorry i dunt knw what it means...
 
i dunt knw really .. but maybe one of the sisters or brothers might knw it .. insh'Allah one person will tell us what it mean..

i just wanted to say to sis Labibah that my name - one of your fav names is spelt: Maarya.
there's loads of different spellings and here's one of them. i thought u might b interested to know.
