Re: Why is pork forbidden?

excuse me....how we don't acknowledge them as part of god's creation?

can you please elaborate?

You claim it's haram, and that it's dirty and the devil created it!

well...firstly....i never claim anything inside this thread...

quran has claimed that it is haram TO EAT IT

but the quran has never mentioned that it is dirty and the devil has created it...:)

Re: Why is pork forbidden?

I look at beef cattle and see stinky animals - not steaks. Call me extreme.
Touche.

You can't have anything against tofu though. It's neutral territory. :p :)

But think of those poor soya beans ... :uuh: ;D

Re: Why is pork forbidden?

Virtually all animals do that if given a chance. Geese for instance do not. But the majority of large domestic animals preside over a harem which they will jealously guard. I have not noticed Europeans behaving like this just because they eat chicken or beef

Pigs harbour a range of parasites and diseases that can be easily transmitted to humans. These include trichinosis, cysticercosis, and brucellosis. Very commonly, pigs are also known to host large concentrations of parasitic ascarid worms in their digestive tract. The presence of these diseases and parasites is one of the main reasons why pork meat should always be well cooked or cured before eating.

that is a quote from wikipedia by da way and oooh what was that i heard on the news the other day.Yeah it was a guy who slept with his own mom.I dont think i ever heard that on tv b4......I rest my case.

Salaaam:D

Re: Why is pork forbidden?

:sl:

Sometimes I wonder why there gets to be so much debate over why pork is forbidden. Us humans are funny creatures we keep looking for explanations. Can't we just accept the fact it is haram because Allah(swt) told us it is?

Now in our search we often come up with what appear to be valid explanations. One of the most common is Pork carries trichnosis. But, pigs are not the only animals that carry it. Any animal we use for meat is capable of carrying it with the exceptions of fowl and fish.

Another arguement that comes out is pigs are dirty, nasty, animals. But, anybody who has ever lived on a farm will tell you pigs are probably the cleanest farm animal. Unfortunatly, many people keep them in too small of confines a pig is primarily a vegetarian and needs to roam and graze over a large area for their calorie requirements, but in captivity farmers often force them to live in close confined quarters. We have some nasty farmers not necessarily nasty pigs.

Then we have the arguement that pigs will eat their own feces. That is true if they are not given sufficent food. But, the same also goes for goats, shepp, cows and horses. The most notorious animal for eating feces is chickens, that is their favorite food and they will eat it even when other food is plentiful.

Now, with all of that said. Let us just be content with the fact that Allah(swt) has ordained it is forbidden.

For myself the rational arguement against eating it is obvious. A pig does not have a defined neck and it is impossible to slaughter one in the halal manner as we are to slaughter our meat. Even in my non-Islamic days the animal I most dreaded to slaughter was a pig. It is nearly impossible to slaughter one without inflicting much pain upon them and they are very intelligent and know when you are about to slaughter one. Pigs will also grieve for long periods over seeing a pig killed. The behaviors and intelligence of pigs is very similar to that of elephants, which are basicaly overgrown pigs in need of a nose job.

Another less obvious reason, pig protein and enzymes are virtualy identical to Human flesh. As a result it is much too enriched for our body to use properly and results in High Blood pressure and other over indulgence problems.

From testimony of cannabils in the past pig meat is indistuingishable from human flesh in appearance and taste. Throughout the world among people who practised cannabilism as a regular thing, the word for human meat and pork are the same word.

Re: Why is pork forbidden?

^^ Now the explanations you gave completely make sense! But your right, Allah(swt) knows best!

Man,i never knew all of them:confused: thanks btw.

The Chinese farmers in Malaysia has make those pigs became more dirty(atleast to Malaysian Muslim),by releasing and disposing their natural waste, dead bodies via a river system to the sea,you can smells that heavy stink 1-2 K.Metres away.As a direct result, all the saids above have tell us-Malay that the pig is disgusting on first impression.

I hope 1999 memories about the J.E and Nipah Viruses will never repeat itself.

Re: Why is pork forbidden?

Oh I don't know. Chickens are pretty good scavengers too. Even better than pigs actually.

Pig eat Chicken then compare it another way Chicken eat Pig.:exhausted you know who's better.

Re: Why is pork forbidden?

Re: Pork Forbidden!

Peace

He has forbidden you only the dead animals, and blood, and the flesh of swine
2:173

Say (oh Muhammed :arabic5:) I find not in that which has been revealed to me anything forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it, unless it be a dead animal or blood poured forth (by slaughtering or the like), or the flesh of swine (pork) for that surely, is impure
6:145

Because "The Qura'an says so" is a good enough reason for me!

Bismillah Rahman Raheem. Al Hamdulilah Rabbil Alameen wa salat wa Salam ala rasool al Kareem. Maa ba'ad, greeting and peace

Because "The Qura'an says so" is good enough reason for me as it should be for any believer.

"It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision."
Quran [33:36]

Now If I went around asking; why is that some people go around carrying huge knives or why is it that some people Don't ever shorten
their head hair to shoulder length like I do or why they don't trim their moustache (like I do) to avoid dipping it into their drink?

I bet if I asked those questions face to face that kirpaan will be be plunged in to my chest or I'll be chased off at the very least.

Re: Pork Forbidden!

I've heard that it's because pork is considered dirty meat. In Thailand Thais are offended if you touch their head or their foot because it's considered dirty. That includes the head. Bit beird that.
