QUIZ: How much SUNNAH do U KNOW?!?!?

Hmmm....I'm sorry I can't help about the sa7aabi, I'm bad at names :X

Also it comes to mind, the hadeeth in which Rasulullah gave the Eid khutbah to the ladies and then said " And Give Sadaqah, for verily you are from the majority of the inhabitants of hellfire" So he was asked why? and he said " Because you Complain frequently, and because you are Ungrateful towards your husbands, if you see one thing you do not like from him you say ' I have never seen good from you!"

I'm in a hurry right now so sorry I can't contribute more :( but next Question :

What is the Sunnah/etiquettes of Dressing?

:sl:
Yes, right that the wonderful hadith to take a lesson from, masha Allah. Thats a lesson for you girls if you marry one day. Eventhough your husbands just can give you a little bit of dunya then you should see thats a lof ot people who is not s lucky as you, still have many to be gratefull:Alhumdill . And then if you see something from your husband that you dont like then please remember to not say that kinda word ("I have never seen good from you") or someting which have similar meaning as this cause its like kufur ni'mat to ur husband, little piece of advices from your poor akhi ladies :beard: .
So etiquettes of dressing, let me think....I wanna asnwer but I dont know the hadith exactly. Let me do my research first :rollseyes You guys makes me bring a lot of books to my office :grumbling . I am worry if theres someone who wanna borrow my books, cause in here sometimes borrowing means having it :D Cause sometimes they just dont give it back  .
By the way...akhee Abdmajid where do U work? What kinda company? Where do U life? my company will send me to London in october insha Allah  I dont want to, but its my father who own the company  So I have to go I think. I will try to say no first instead insha Allah. But if I see many/some ikhwan there then it can heal my sadness a little bit right insha Allah

Okaay...Here it is insha Allah:

1. Narated by Abu Sa'id Al Khudri he said: Verily when Rasulullah shalallahu alaihi wasallam wearing new clothes or new thurban, or new jubah or new cloth, He will say asma Allah and then He read:"Allahumma lakalhamdu anta kasautaniihi, asaluka khairahu wa khaira maa shuni'a lahuu, wa a'udhubika min syarri wa syarri maa shuni'a lahuu". (Sunan Abu Dawud in Al libaas and sunan Tirmidhi)

2. And we put our right hands first into the clothes and then our left hand if we wanna wear our clothes. And if we wanna put it off then we start with our left hand and then our right hand. The daleel doesnt exist in my memory or my books :rollseyes . please someone help.

3. Its haram for men to wear pants/jubah/saroong to the ground or more than their ankle (isbal). Rasulullah said:"Everything which below your ankle then hell is its place" (HR. Bukhari)
Also narated by Abu Dzar that Rasulullah said:"There are three kind of people who will not talk with Allah, Allah will not see to them, and also Alah will not purified them, and then they will have suffering tortures......(one of them is) men who is isbal". (HR. Muslim)

4. Its ahsan for women to wear dark colours so they wont be eyecatching to men.

Im wondering is this enough :) , if theres someone who wanna add more answer about sunnah in dressing then its better so we can know maybe theres something that we dont know about something. And it should be done in every questions insha Allah, what do U think guys? So if my answers not complete then I hope theres someone who will complete it so it can be more manfaat, insha Allah

Next question:
"Tell me the sunnah in wearing our sandals in which occasion?, how should we wearing it? What kinda sandal that allowed to men and women? And daleels insha Allah." :brother:

:sl:
Ooh there are no hadith concern what kinda of sandals do we have to wear, but its fatawa of ulama, that there are sandal for men and for women. So Im waiting for the answer insha Allah. I will see it tomorrow insha Allah, if Im still alive  :sl:

as salaamu alaykum,

okay!!...thanks for clearing that!!.. "it's a shame I don't have majmuu3 al-fatwaa li shayk al-islaam!!"...:'(

Allahul Musta3aan!

as salaamu aalykum,

that's one of the only hadeeth i had in mind when the prophet saw that sahaabah walkin' on the graves with his shoes he said: yaa saahib as-sibtiyyaytayn ilqi sibtiyyataky.....oh ye with the sibtiiyatayn (& i think these shoes were made from leather or something) take them off!!

i also had in mind another hadeeth that says we should'nt keep one shoe on whilst the other's off and walk around like that for verily those are the actions of the shaytaan!!!...

those were the only two ahaadeeth I had in mind that have "shoes" in them!!

but it does'nt really answer your question because yours is:
what kinda of sandals do we have to wear
..wallahu a3lam!!

No offense bro, but Ive found that a lot of ppl quote this hadith : Volumn 007, Book 072, Hadith Number 678 .Narrated By Abu Huraira : The Prophet said, "The part of an Izar which hangs below the ankles is in the Fire." and tell ppl that if ure clothes are below ure ankle then it is in the hell fire, but they donnot quote the hadiths just b4 it which specifies that if the clothes are worn below the ankle out of conciet (as done by the ppl of Jahiliyah at that time), then it is in the hell fire. So it is not Haram to wear ure clothes below ure ankle unless if u wear it out of conciet.

Sahih Bukhari :

Volumn 007, Book 072, Hadith Number 675.
-----------------------------------------
Narated By 'Abdullah bin 'Umar : The Prophet said Allah will not look, on the Day of on who drags his garment (behind him) out of conceit. On that Abu Bakr said, "O Allah's Apostle! One side of my Izar hangs low if I do not take care of it." The Prophet said, 'You are not one of those who do that out of conceit."

Volumn 007, Book 072, Hadith Number 674.

This is what i can find on sandals

Sahih Bukhari:
Volumn 007, Book 072, Hadith Number 748.
-----------------------------------------
Narated By Anas : The sandal of the Prophet had two straps.

Volumn 007, Book 072, Hadith Number 749.

Narated By Isaa bin Tahman : Anas bin Malik brought out for us, two sandals having two straps. Thabit Al-Banani said, "These were the sandals of the Prophet."

Assalamu'alaikum Brother, I was listening to a tape by Sheikh al-Albani rahimahullah and he said that it is allowed in certain cases like for example in certain cultures when someone comes in then we stand up to greet them etc.......and to make them feel welcome. I have to go back and check some more on this though insha'allah........ :) By the way, it's nice to see you active in the thread again alhamdulillah :)

:sl:
Yes right ukhtee, I heard about this explanation too, but maybe its not everybody who should stood up to welcome the guess, just maybe the owner of the house who should standing and the rest still just sit and no need to stand up too. Maybe its what it means in the hadith Allahu A'lam. Example there are 50 people in a house, and when someone come then maybe some people who is the owner or the house and his family who should stand up and not all of these 50 people, thats what I mean. Whats the tape said about it? Please lengthen your explanation. Jazakillah khair

:sl:
:) No offence at all bro, jazakallah khair for joining us in this thread, I hope we all can take so much manfaat in here insha Allah.
So akheel kareem about the hadith :
Narated By 'Abdullah bin 'Umar : The Prophet said Allah will not look, on the Day of on who drags his garment (behind him) out of conceit. On that Abu Bakr said, "O Allah's Apostle! One side of my Izar hangs low if I do not take care of it." The Prophet said, 'You are not one of those who do that out of conceit."

Akhee, We should know that this not mean we may wear our clothes under our ankle yaa akhee, cause this is uzuur that Abu Bakr had. And this is happened to Abu Bakr was not because he wanted to wear his clothes under his ankle cause the hukm is clear about it, but it was just sometimes his clothes descent by it self without his realization, cause he was a thin man you see. If you read the history about khulafaa ar rasyideen (in bidayah wan nihayah by Ibn Katheer, or fit tamyiz ash sahabah by ibn Hajar, and another history book by ulama salaf) then you will know his characteristic and his appearance. Abu Bakr was a man with a lovely face, and he was a thin man till his eyes deep into the skull. So its his uzuur, and Rasulullah knew about this so thats why he said:" 'You are not one of those who do that out of conceit." And its Rasulullahs witness to Abu Bakr, so who witness the muslims today who do isbal?Abu Bakr is Ash Shiddiqul akbar whose iman so strong and he was the one who had the strongest iman amongth the sahabah even amongth all muslims till yaumul qiyamah, and who are we so we can use this hadith as if we have the same level as Abu Bakr to make isbal allowed? :brother: Still according to another hadith that its muthlaq isbal is haram to men but Muslims who have the same uzuur as Abu Bakr then they may use this daleel, but still they have to try first so his clothes wont go below his ankle.

So, the general hukm about this matter (Isbal) is muthlaq haram according hadith : "
"The part of an Izar which hangs below the ankles is in the Fire." (HR. Bukhari). And IF we say that we may do isbal as long as we are not conceit, then Rasulullah told us that isbal it self is one conceit to Allah, as he -shalallahualaihi wasallam- said:"Dont do isbal cause isbal is a conceit". (Narated by Jabir bin Sulaim, HR Bukhari).

So our ulama explained IF someone do isbal without a conceit in his heart then he is threatened by hadith:"The part of an Izar which hangs below the ankles is in the Fire." And IF he do it with a conceit in his heart then his sins is even bigger and he is threatened by the hadith: "The part of an Izar which hangs below the ankles is in the Fire." and also PLUS the hadith :"Whoever did isbal with his clothes because of conceit, then Allah will not look at him in yaumul qiyamah". So muslims who do isbal with a conceit then his sins is even more bigger cause he combine big sins (Isbal) and a conceit. And the hadith to Abu Bakr Ash Shiddiq only work to someone who have the same uzuur as Abu Bakr had.

And also there hadith that said in the time before Rasulullah there was a man who walk around with his clothes isbal all over the place, and he was so conceit. Cause those times it was said longer the pants then its explained the social status that they have. And then Allah drown that man into the earth, and he is still moving (alive) till yaumul qiyamah. So isbal is an action of a conceit, and isbal is forbidden because its safer for our clothes and cleaner, and also by not doing isbal we have made our selfdont looklike a woman, cause women wajiib isbal but men haram to do isbal. And Rasulullah said "Allah will curse men who dress like women and women who dress like men". What do you think if we do isbal and then when we walk without we realize our pants touch something najis and then we do salaat with that kinda pants, and Rasulullah ever explained about two muslims who was tortured in the grave cause he did salaat with najiis on his clothes cause he was careless to be aware of it. So theres no different then if we do isbal, then we will be tortured also cause we are careless with our clothes. And theres nothing hard insha Allah to not isbal cause Islam is easy abd beautiful, masha Allah.

Naam, this is what sheikh Abdulaziz bin Bazz rahimahullah explained in his fatawa.

Im sorry for my long explanation, I hope its manfaat insha Allah.

Right masha Allah, :)
And also hadith that we should walk without sandal sometimes, hadith from Abdullah bin Buraidah that someone from sahabah met Fudhalah bin Ubeid and then that man asked "Why your hair so messy, isnt youre the amir of this country?" and then Fudhalah asnwered:"Veriily Rasulullah forbid us to do something with grandeur". and then Fudhalah asked him "Why you dont wear your sandals?" and then he replied "Rasulullah asked us to walk without sandals sometimes". (Sunan Abu Dawud in kitab Tarajjul and musnad Ahmad).

Also its sunnah to salaat with our sandals if yo sure that the sandal is clean:
- Narated by Anas bin Malik Radhiallahu anhu, we was asked:"Did Rasulullah ever salaat with his sandal on?", Anas said:"Yes he had". (Sunan An Nasaai)
-Narated by Abu Said Al Khudri he said:"when Rasulullah did salaat with his companions, suddenly he took off his sandals and put it to his left side. When the companions saw that, then they also did the same thing. And when Rasulullah saw the companions did that, after salaat Rasulullah said:"What reason you took off your sandal?", and they asnwered:"cause we saw you also took off your sandal, so we also took of our sandals. Then Rasulullah said:"Verily Jibreel came to me and told me that there was najis (adzaa) on my sandals". And then he -shalallahu alaihi wasallam- said:"If someone of you come to masjid then he should check his sandal first. If he saw theres najis then he should clean them first and then salaat wearing it".

And also we wear our sandal from our right foot first and take it off from our left foot first according hadith from Abu Hurairah. Allahu a'lam.

SO...I think its bro Sameer turn who ask the question :brother:, and If he take too long then maybe anybody :D insha Allah

:sl:
Ooh I forget about what kinda sandal women and men should wear. I ever read fatawa about this and according to hadith that bro Sameer quoted above that sandals of men which have strips, so women may not wearing sandals which have strips. So sandal for women is which has....how to explain it yeee? I dont know how to call it :D . I will takl malay then and I hope maybe sis Maw can explain ;D Shes the one who is malay here right, ooh and sis Bawal maybe :) . (Isnt it bawal name of a fish?:rollseyes And its taste good if its baked). So sandal for women ya'ni sandal yang tak ade jepitnye pade ibu jari di kaki. Jadi sandal for women punye somekinda kain dari kiri ke kanan sandal above the feet/feets fingers. Got it tak? :rollseyes . I dont remember where and whose fatawa I read, but if Im not mistaken its fatawa lajnah daimah lil aftaa. Please correct me if Im wrong, insha Allah.

As salaamu alaykum,

ooh and sis Bawal maybe

Her name is Nawal!!... ;D ;D not bawal :heated:

you don't remember the fatwa :ooh: Allahu Musta3aan!!

 :haha: it's NAWAL not BAWAL ;D ;D

You seem to like to eat eh Akhi? until you even mention that this fish tastes good if it's baked lol :D and the other day you said that the talk of food was making you hungry.....lol...

So.....from what I understand of what you're saying, is that women cannot wear Thongs is it? You know the kind of slippers which they call Thongs right Princess :rollseyes I mean that kind of thong ..... just in case you're thinking something else.....Flip flops ya know....

And women slippers are the kind which just have one strap over the feet?

Oh Dear.......and I love my flip flops:offended:

And this is the first time I ever heard that there was a different type of sandal for women and men? really? because I wear every type of sandal you can think of :X The strap has to be a certain way for women? oh wow..........in Fatwa allajnah Ad-Daaimah you said? I will check it the next time I go to the masjid then INsha'allah.

Or you know what? why dont you post up a picture here Akhi so that we can really see what you're talking about Insha'allah............

Ok so I"ll take the next Question then :

What is the Sunnah in the wearing of the 3imaamah (Turban)

as salaamu alaykum,

So.....from what I understand of what you're saying, is that women cannot wear Thongs is it? You know the kind of slippers which they call Thongs right Princess I mean that kind of thong ..... just in case you're thinking something else.....Flip flops ya know....

Hmmmmm....thongy flip flops, i think I know what your talkin' about Sis!!.. :?:?
so women are not allowed to wear that now or something hunh??.....maa adhunn maan!!... :heated: mun qaala bihaadhaa!!...:?

nabqaa 3alaa al-baraa'ah al-asliyyah inshaAllah!! .right!!

^ That's what I was thinking too man Princess!! In all my 5 years in Dammaj and all those women flapping around with Flip Flops I've never heard Sheikh Muqbil (rahimahullah) Or Sheikh Yahya or Sheikh Abdurrahmaan al 3adani (hafidhahumallah) say anything about Tahreem of them for women!!

But like I said, maybe I was misunderstanding what the Brother said.

Wa laakin al asl fee kulli Shay al hill hatta ya'tee Daleel yukhaalifu Dhaalik!!
(The origin of everything is halal until a Daleel comes opposite of that )

So we're eagerly awaiting your reply Brother Dhul Qarnaeen :)

So back to the Question right!!

What was the PRophets Sunnah in wearing the Imaamah/Turban?
