I thought Love was the opposite of Hate. no ?
Hmmh? I believe it's the fantasy of a budding teen and the tale of a granny.
I thought Love was the opposite of Hate. no ?
And how does that occur ?
and the opposite should be Extreme likeable ?
lol?
Due to some deed comitted maybe? Or perhaps something that was said? Some unwanted happening.
So... You're telling me love is extreme like? Wouldn't the opposite of hate just be no hate? Not necessarily love?
Hmmh? I believe it's the fantasy of a budding teen and the tale of a granny.
but it doesn't have to be hatred , can love not also occur in those situations?
no, no hate/no love, would be just ...neutral
WHAT the heck is love ? haha
I thought love was that someone realy likes a person.
Like Parent/child ...isnt that also love?
I'm not directing this at you, but you reminded me of a quite a relevant quote from Ibn Jawzi. He said in 'dhamm ul-hawaa':“If you haven’t loved passionately or known the meaning of desire then get up and eat hay for you are nothing but a donkey.”
And again:
“You and the hard rock are equal.”

On a serious note, love is definitely real - and I'm talking not of the superficial kind, but the real deep one that settles in the chambers of the heart (it's called [شغف] shaghaf in Arabic, think Surah Yusuf). Allaah has mentioned love (mawaddah) in the Qur'aan as one of His Ayaat on par with the creation of the heavens and Earth. Not to mention that the Prophet (salalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) himself said he was filled with love for Khadijah (r.a.).
Well, if all were to experience love in a very short time, wouldn't love lose it's meaning? I know it wasn't directed at me, but I was just saying. =]
Just because I don't hate everyone on this forum doesn't mean I love them, ne?
Is love synonymous with like?
Can you elaborate?
that's what I said ,you dont hate nor love so ...neutral ( or does it have another word for that :X )
It's surreal and doesn't really exist. So it cannot be described.
Hmm? I always thought love was a more intense emotion.
Have you ever experienced love?
Not that I know of. ^_^ Which is why I say it's surreal and doesn't exist. Because, to me, it doesn't exist as I've never experienced it
“If you haven’t loved passionately or known the meaning of desire..."
If kids too young begin to experience that (and what age is too young is completely subjective)... Then I do believe that love would lose its meaning. I think love isn't something one can experience over a small amount of time... It sets its foundation and gradually grows from there. It's like a seedling that cannot be appreciated unless it grows to its full height and bears its fruit. Now, if this seed was planted in unfertilised and realtively new soil low in nutrients, it wouldn't grow... Because the seed won't find what it requires there. Whereas plant it in a well fertilised land, and you'll see the results after a while.
Have I gone off in a tangent? Forgive me... I know what I'm trying to say but am having a difficult time explaining it, since I'm trying to see things from a point of view other than my own.
