Hhmmm .. it does say he made sure nobody was in the car.
Does that mean his wife came with him?
Whose car are we talking about.
We are assuming it was the couple's car - because we are meant to assume that. But perhaps that's misleading?? :?

No it says the man went alone and made sure nobody was in the car with his wife. and it's the couples car ofcourse.
the answer has nothing to do with the car being not his it's more like who is the stranger and how he came to be in there and what killed the woman!!!

Right, this is not a very nice solution, but I'll try it ...

They were driving at speed to get to the hospital! While the husband has gone for help, the pregnant wife in the car gives birth to their baby. By the time the husband returns, the woman has died and the baby (who he has never seen before) is there!

I don't know if it's the right answer ... and I did hesitate posting it up - especially since I know that there are pregnant members in this forum, and I would hate to frighten them!

err...how about..the stranger was hidin in the boot..and wanted to murder the wife and so got out as soon as the man went?
Well.it makes no sense, but glo's one scred me!

Statistically the risk of women dying in childbirth is very slim!
Probably even slimmer than having a mad axe murderer hiding in your boot! :rollseyes

Ohh i didn't know that and by the way the woman's death was more of the accident than of childbirth.
