my God I absolutely detest ghee, can smell it a mile away, my mother uses it in Eid cookies, the mere scent is enough to make me vomit astghfor Allah.. not sure when I developed such an aversion to it, I wonder if your ghee is distinctively offensive like ours? because that means I'd have to cross trying your bread out![]()

Pitta bread tends to be thicker, this is really thin, with no yeast (I think pitta breads have yeast, not sure though..)
And you wouldn't have to miss it out, as we make the pure roti - ingredients: Wheat flour, water. That's it. Nothing else.
We've never put oil or ghee in ours. And to be honest, it's so long since we used ghee I can't remember what it smells like. But I don't think it was particularly offensive...
