Gems Reminder of Today

Remove harmful things from the way:
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)
said: "A man passed a branch of a tree lying in the road and said, By Allah, I want to remove this out of the way of the Muslims so that it will not hurt them, and he was admitted to Paradise." (Sahih Muslim, no. 1914).

Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah

As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu

Dress - 28th Sha'aban 1432 (29th July 2011)

Narrated Thabit (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

I heard Ibn Az-Zubair delivering a sermon, saying, "Muhammad (Sallallahu
'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, 'Whoever wears silk in this world, shall not wear
it in the Hereafter.' "

Bukhari Vol. 7 : No. 724

Remember death is chasing you:
If Allah were to punish men according to what they deserve. He would not leave on the back of the (earth) a single living creature: but He gives them respite for a stated Term: when their Term expires, verily Allah has in His sight all His Servants. (Holy Quran [35:45]

Pray tahajjud today:
Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Apostle saying regarding Ramadan, "Whoever prayed at night in it (the month of Ramadan) out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven."
(Sahih Bukhari: Book #32, Hadith #226)

Everyone who is reading this. I know everyone here can pray the night prayer please let's do this together today make an intention ' Today inshallah at night I will pray tahajjud even if I have slept late at night''.I know that everyone can do this :).

^ I did that.
Strive for the everlasting:
Whatever you have will end, but what Allah has is lasting. And We will surely give those who were patient their reward according to the best of what they used to do.(20:96)

Don't become proud:
Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the neighbor farther away, the companion at your side, the traveler, and those whom your right hands possess (slaves). Indeed, Allah does not like those who are proud and boastful." [Surah Nisa 4:36]

Perform prayer at it's proper time:
It is reported on the authority of 'Abdullah that the Apostle of Allah observed: The best of the deeds is the prayer at its proper time and kindness to the parents.(Sahih Muslim: Book #001, Hadith #0155)

I agree that many of us (including me delay) the prayer. It's the best to time to start performing prayer at proper time, in Ramadan and then after Ramadan you will be used to it and it won't seem much difficult to you.

Good and evil are your tests:
Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned.(21:35)

O Allah, do not hold me to account by the right of those in hunger!’

....Ibn ‘Umar fell ill and he desired grapes, so it was bought for him. He heard a beggar making a request so chose to give him the grapes.

When evening would set Uways al-Qarni would donate any surplus food and clothing he had and supplicate, ‘O Allah, whoever dies from hunger, do not hold me to account because of that, and whoever dies lacking clothing, do not hold me to account because of that.’

When some would eat they would supplicate, ‘O Allah, do not hold me to account by the right of those in hunger!’

Give charity:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Save yourself from hellfire by giving even half a date-fruit in charity." [Bukhari :Volume 2, Hadith 498]

Have a good intention:
Whoever takes the money of the people with the intention of repaying it, Allah will repay it on his behalf, and whoever takes it in order to spoil it, then Allah will spoil him." (Sahih Bukhari, Book 41, Hadith 572)

Rely on Allah:
The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts become fearful, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith; and upon their Lord they rely. [Al Anfal 8:2]

May Allah make all of us achieve this level of faith.
Ameen

Three things to do:
Narrated Abu Huraira: My friend (the Prophet) advised me to do three things and I shall not leave them till I die, these are: To fast three days every month, to offer the duha prayer, and to offer Witr before sleeping.(Sahih Bukhari: Book #21, Hadith #274)

The giver is better than the one who takes:
Narrated Ibn 'Umar: I heard Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) while he was on the pulpit speaking about charity, to abstain from asking others for some financial help and about begging others, saying, "The upper hand is better than the lower hand. The upper hand is that of the giver and the lower (hand) is that of the beggar."(Sahih Bukhari: Book #24, Hadith #509)

Turn away from the wrong people:
“When you see men engaged in vain discourse about Our Signs, turn away from them unless they turn to a different theme. If Satan ever makes you forget, then after recollection, do not sit in the company of those who do wrong.” [Al-An’am 6:68]
