Gems Reminder of Today

Be grateful:
And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.' "
[Surah Ibrahim 14:7]

Worship Allah at night:
“Establish worship at the going down of the sun until the dark of the night, & (the recital of) the Qur’an at dawn. Lo! (the recital of) the Qur’an at dawn is ever witnessed. And some part of the night awake for its recital, as voluntary worship for you. It may be that your Lord will raise you to a praised estate.” (Qur’an, 17: 78-79)

Allah Almighty says, "Do not pursue what you have no knowledge of," (17:36)

Salama (radi allahu anha) relates: I have heard the Messenger of Allah (Salalahu wa alaihe wa salam) stating: Whoever attributes anything towards me which I have not said, will make his abode in Hell. Bukhari, vol.1, p.84, no.109.

Try to improve yourself:
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "If any one of you improve (follows strictly) his Islamic religion then his good deeds will be rewarded ten times to seven hundred times for each good deed and a bad deed will be recorded as it is." (Sahih Bukhari: Book #2, Hadith #40)

Do these seven things:
Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald: I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:-- (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health), (2) to follow funeral processions, (3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"), (4) to return greetings, (5) to help the oppressed, (6) to accept invitations, (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths. (Sahih Bukhari: Book #43, Hadith #625)

And just a quick question....

(3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),

When sneezing.. i was told to say "Alhamdulilah" and to also say this when i heard others sneezing... is that correct/will suffice? If not can someone please inform....

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurayrah [R.A] that the Prophet of ALLAH [PBUH] said: "When one of you sneezes, let him say, al-hamdu-lillaah ('All praise be to ALLAH'). And let his brother or companions say to him, yarhamukallaah ('May ALLAH have mercy upon you'), and if he says, yarhamukallaah, let him say, yahdikumullaahu wa yuslihu baalakum ('May ALLAH guide you and straighten your affairs')."
[Al-Bukhari: 6224]

Repent:
Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Apostle said, "Allah is more pleased with the repentance of his slave than anyone of you is pleased with finding his camel which he had lost in the desert. "(Sahih Bukhari, Book #75, Hadith #321)

dont forget to fast 6 days in Shawal and get the rewards of fasting the whole year :)

Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever fasts Ramadaan and follows it with six days of Shawwaal, it will be as if he fasted for a lifetime

[h=1]double intention :)[/h]

.There is nothing wrong, as far as Islam is concerned, in making a double intention by fasting the missed days of obligatory fasting in Ramadan as well as fasting the optional six days of Shawwal. However, some Muslim jurists state that it is recommended to make up for the missed fasts separately from fasting the six days of Shawwal so as to get extra reward.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said,
"The example of a believer is that of a fresh green plant the leaves of which move in whatever direction the wind forces them to move and when the wind becomes still, it stand straight. Such is the similitude of the believer: He is disturbed by calamities (but is like the fresh plant he regains his normal state soon). And the example of a disbeliever is that of a pine tree (which remains) hard and straight till Allah cuts it down when He will."
(Sahih Bukhari: Book #93, Hadith #558)

Argue in the best way:
Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided.{An Nahl 16:125}

Make peace between the people:
And if two parties of the believers fall to mutual fighting, make peace between them. Then if either of them transgresses against the other, fight the one that has transgressed till it returns to Allah’s Command. Then if it returns, make peace between them with justice, and be just because Allah loves those who do justice. The believers are brothers of one another; so set the relations right between your brothers, and fear Allah; it is expected that you will be shown mercy.(Surah Hujarat 9 – 10)

Do not scoff:
O you who believe! Let not a group scoff at another group, it may be that the latter are better than the former; nor let (some) women scoff at other women, it may be that the latter are better than the former, nor defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. How bad is it, to insult one's brother after having Faith [i.e. to call your Muslim brother (a faithful believer) as: "O sinner", or "O wicked", etc.]. And whosoever does not repent, then such are indeed Zalimun (wrong-doers, etc.). [Al Qur'aan 49:11]

Take a bath on Friday:
Narrated Salman-Al-Farsi: The Prophet (SAW) said, "Whoever takes a bath on Friday, purifies himself as much as he can, then uses his (hair) oil or perfumes himself with the scent of his house, then proceeds (for the Jumuah prayer) and does not separate two persons sitting together (in the mosque), then prays as much as (Allah has) written for him and then remains silent while the Imam is delivering the Khutba, his sins in-between the present and the last Friday would be forgiven."(Bukhari Volume 2, Book 13, Number 8)

Don't despair of Allah's mercy:
Tell them (O Muhammad ): 'O My slaves who have wronged their souls, do not despair of Allah's mercy, for Allah will forgive all the sins. He is indeed very Forgiving, very Compassionate, Turn to Him then, and obey Him (in all your affairs).'"
(Al-Zumar:53,54)

Don't speak loudly:
O you who have believed, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet or be loud to him in speech like the loudness of some of you to others, lest your deeds become worthless while you perceive not.(Surah Hujarat 49:2)

This is very common that many people (including me) talk loudly imsad. From today inshallah, try your best to lower your voice :).

May Allah grant us strength to improve ourselves.
Ameen

Every king was once a crying baby & every great building was once a print on paper. Its not important where YOU are todayBUT where YOU will reach TOMORROW. Allah does not judge you on how bad you have been in the past but he looks at on how good you strive to be now.
May Allah give us a good ending life in HIS guidance
Ameen

Be content:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Riches does not mean, having a great amount of property, but riches is self-contentment." [Bukhari Book 76 Hadith 453]

Be grateful:
"And it is He who produced for you hearing and vision and hearts; little are you grateful" [Surah Al-Mu'minun v.78]
