The answer:

The Mosque was built inside an ancient Egyptian temple and when the Mosque was built, the door was at ground level. When the archaeologists excavated the temple to the original ground floor level, it left the mosque 5 metres above ground.

Interesting..
Today I received a 'slide show' of Egypt 150 yrs ago, wouldn't mind sharing if anyone can teach me how

These are NOT MY PICTURES, but I just wanted to share what it looks like here right now:

"Saudi men walk in Riyadh after a sand-storm hit the Gulf region with warnings of low visibility and threats to the oil industry."

There's a sandstorm going on right now, and it's absolutely CRAZY, you can barely see a few feet in front of you. I was outside when it started, and all of a sudden it just got dimmer and dimmer until the entire sky was a bright orange red, even brighter than the one in the picture...

This sandstorm took place about 3 years ago. I wasn't there when it happened, but i have been told by family that it was the worst sandstorm to take place in sudan.

People thought it was the day of judgement. U could not see ur own hand that day.

^^Wow, what a picture!
And yesss, people here were also freaking out wondering "oh man is this it?!". And then I reminded them that all the other signs had not happened, so no, the world wasn't coming to an end, lol.

Ahhh the only time something interesting happens here I'm stuck at school without my camera!!

Here's another picture from iReport, CNN

Not exactly a picture. A youtube video I did today.

We got hit with another blizzard today. When the snow and wind slowed a bit to see. A flock of birds came into the yard to eat and play. I do not know what kind of birds these are. But, they did not walk on the snow they belly flopped and snow boarded like penguins. They were a little larger then the American Robin. visibility was too poor to identify any color.

It may take a few hours for Youtube to finish processing it, but here it is. If it is blank check back in a few hours.

Uncle Woodrow, that video was really amazing subhan Allah.....and those birds were even more amazing to be able to live in such a condition

Crayon, they said that this sand storm may come across UAE as well.....I am very worried starting from now, may allah protect everyone

Here are some pictures I took of the blizzard that hit us the other day. There was a short time break when the white out conditions let up enough to see out the window. The pictures where taken during the breaks. Below each picture is one taken today from the same windows, to compare.

Blizzards have a mysterious beauty about them. They seem to make the world magical and at the same time pure and clean. Fortunately, we did not have to go outside. The temperature was so low that any exposed skin would freeze instantly.

Both sets of pictures were taken at the same time of day. Just on different days.

Just adding this one I took today, because it looks nice.

I did end up buying a new camera... But I didn't want one initially.

Because they were taken for my blog header. And if they were left coloured, it would've looked horrible.

Here's a bit of colour:

EDIT: I for got to add the fact that the image was Picnik-d.

Today is actually quite warm for this time of year and the snow is fast melting. However, it will soon turn cold again. Typically the last and worse blizzard for this region occurs in April and the last snow flurries occur in May.

Transition I think it was sister Gossammer.

:sl:

Oh yeah, she also wanted a camera but I was speaking about Sister Ruler's blog where she mentioned something about a camera. Ruler got a new camera during her search for a phone.

Yeah, I know, it sounds like I'm going insane but I'm not. XD.

Salaam,

Masha'Allah.

The close up on the olive and the butterfly are really beautiful.

Sis Ruler's ones are very nice also, makes me want to touch the flowers :D

Here are a couple Hawaii shots. A lot of the pics are still on the camera unfortunately.

I'll try to get some more closeups of the moon again whenever it decides to come out.
