Qari Abdul Basit: listen to his recitation of Fatiha from the Almusshaf Al Mojawwad collection; surah Waqi'ah is pretty poignant

I think you should listen to Surah As-Sajdah (32) of Qari Abdul Basit (Mujawad Mushaf) as well. :]

I voted for Mishary Rashid Al-Efasi, because of his beautiful recitation of Surah Maryam.

I am surprised nobody as mentioned saad al ghamadi he seems to be popular with the younger generation.

I don't know about you but I love his recitation. I understand only a little Arabic but whenever I read the Qur'an I listen to him. NO idea why but it just seems proper.
Now if you didn't vote for Saad al-Ghamdi I believe me and you won't be getting along ;D . I went through a lot of reciters when trying to listen to the Qur'an but Saad al-Ghamdi tops them all. I use to perform as-Salaat mimicking his accent when I recited the words for salah Arabic! Listening to him made Al-Fatihah so much easier honestly.

I prefer Ibrahim Ibn Jibreen. I listened to his recitation of Surat Al-Isra' just to practise listening in Arabic. It really moved me and it was definitely a factor in slowly realizing that I wanted to learn about the message of the Qur'an, not just Arabic.
I have to be honest and say I haven't listened to many others on the list, though. I'll listen to some others reciting the suras that have been mentioned here insha Allah.

Asalamu Alaikum,
1. Mishary Rashid Al Afasy.!!
2. Sudais/Shuraim (They compliment eachother)
3. Abdirashid Ali Sufi

Interesting poll!
I thought Saad Al Ghamidy would be first, but no. I like his voice very much and his clear voice when he recites, masha'Allah.
But among the different qari, there are no Turkish reciters! These people can give a profound and deep feeling while reciting the Sacred Words of Allah. If you have tha chance, insha'Allah, you may look for Ilhan Tok or, my favorite reciter, the blind qari Kani Karaca.

they are all ماشـــــــــــــــــــــــــــــاء الله

One of the best recitor : Rashid alefasi. :) really really best recitor maa shaa Allah

sometimes you find one sheikh recitation is amazing in particular surah or ayat but normal on others

:sl:

I can't post links but have a listen to Muhammad Taha Al-Junaid, you can find his recitation on youtube. He is still young and not in the list above

You're right : I just found by mere chance his recitation of Surat Ya-Seen, while I thought I was actually listening to Al-Minshawi. Nice surprise and indeed, very touvhing voice. He makes me shiver and drop tears when I listen to his recitation.

thanks for sharing the links

I also like Qari Muhammed El-Minshawi. Well known for recitation of Al-Ahzab in Maqam Nahawand (style/melody)

He and Abdul Bassit Abdul Samad have similar vocal pitch. I think they both influenced each other when they recited together.

Have listened Shaykh Husari's recitation for such a long time... love his recitation notes.. helps with hifz also..

T

Muhammad al Luhaidan only 1,67% ??? He is one of the best reciters for me...
