I heard the Messenger of Allah صلي الله عليه وسلم say,

“Whoever makes the world his more important matter, Allah will confound his affairs and make poverty appear before his eyes and he will not get anything from the world except what has been decreed for him.

Whoever makes the Hereafter his most important matter, Allah will settle his affairs and make him content in his heart and the world will come to him although he does not want it.”

Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

"He who has, in his heart, an atoms weight of pride will not enter Jannah."

A Sahaabi (رضي الله عنه) once mentioned to Rasulullah (صلي الله عليه وسلم),

“O Rasul of Allah! So-and-so woman performs nafl salaah at night and keeps nafl fasts during the day. However, she has a wicked tongue with which she harms her neighbours.” Rasulullah (صلي الله عليه وسلم) remarked, “There is no good in her. She will be punished.”

Rasulullah (صلي الله عليه وسلم) was then asked regarding another woman, “O Rasul of Allah! So-and-so woman suffices on performing the fardh (and sunnah) salaah and keeping the fardh fast of Ramadhaan (i.e. she does not engage in abundant nafl worship). However, she gives pieces of cheese in charity, despite not having anything else, and does not cause harm to anybody.” Rasulullah (صلي الله عليه وسلم) remarked, “She will go to Jannah.”

The angels say, ‘Yes.’

Allaah says, ‘What did My slave say?’
The angels say, ‘He praised you and said “Innaa lillaahi wa inna ilayhi raaji’oon*(Verily to Allaah we belong and unto Him is our return).’

Jabir ibn Sulaim رضي الله عنه said:

“I requested Rasullullah صلي الله عليه وسلم for some advice.”

He صلي الله عليه وسلم said: “And do not consider any act of kindness insignificant, speaking cheerfully with your brother is undoubtedly an act of kindness.

Keep your lower garment up to the middle of the calf or if you so desire then up to the ankles; avoid its trailing, for that is a sign of pride and indeed Allah does not like pride. (males only)

If anyone abuses you or makes you ashamed for something he knows about you, do not make him ashamed for something you know about him; for the burden of that will be on him.” (Abu Dawud)

He replied, ‘I do not remember any good deed.’ He was asked to think it over, and he said, ‘I cannot recall any save that I used to trade with people in the world and was lenient with them. I gave respite to the rich and forgave the poor.’ So Allah made him enter Paradise.”(Bukhari)

Wednesday يوم الأربعاء

Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrates :

... *Thereafter, Rasulullah (صلي الله عليه وسلم) explained the condition of a person who had undertook a long, arduous journey. His hair was dishevelled and his clothing was covered in dust. He raised his hands to the sky crying in supplication saying, “O my Lord, O my Lord (Help me in my difficulty)."

Whereas his food and drink intake are haraam, his clothing is obtained from haraam sources; his body is nourished with haraam, so how can his duaas ever be answered?” (i.e. Despite being in this pitiable plight and condition, his duaas are not answered on account of all the haraam).(Muslim)

Thursday يوم الخميس

Uqba Bin Aamir رضي الله عنه narrates :

Rasulullaah (صلي الله عليه وسلم) said,

“Guard yourselves against mixing with women (who are not Mahram).”

“What about the brother-in-law (husband’s brother)?” an Ansaari Sahabi (رضي الله عنه) asked.

“The brother-in-law is death,” Rasulullaah (صلي الله عليه وسلم) replied.

[Bukhaari 5232]

This Hadith makes it evident that it is necessary for a woman to conceal herself from her husband’s brother because failure to do so spells destruction.
