You guys are ALL horrible individuals and should be ashamed of yourselves. This is pure food pornographic imagery.

Says those who use imagery of incredible looking pitted kalamata olives as his avatar.

Meanwhile, people in Somalia don't even have a drop of water.
In memory of Marie Antoinette, "Well, let them drink Coke."

From Wiki: "Let them eat cake" is the traditional translation of the Frenchhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_language phrase "Qu'ils mangent de la briochehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brioche", supposedly spoken by "a great princess" upon learning that the peasants had no bread. Since brioche was enriched, as opposed to normal bread, the quote supposedly would reflect the princess's obliviousness to the condition of the people.

Seriously, though you are right. There is no one I know that is more cognizant of the suffering of the people in Somalia and Kenya than is ukhti The Vale's Lily. I see nothing wrong in celebrating the blessings Allah has bestowed on us during this blessed month. We are blessed with an abundance of food and clean water while many people of the world have neither. For example, a while back I read about how the water in Bangladesh is contaminated with arsenic. We should remember to be thankful for all that we have and remember those who are less fortunate with prayers and what charity we can give.

you're too kind akhi walaahi, let's pray to Allah swt to not make us of the hypocrites.. It is funny I was just telling my sis today that I don't recall seeing one obese or overweight Somalian yet I hear so many obese Americans complain of poverty.. what gives?

:w:

Thought I should share my suhur also.

Chicken korma (a bit different from curry), Paratha and mixed pickle. Paratha wasn't fried in ghee, however ghee is in sunnah. We use olive oil in our cooking, alhamdulilaah.

Only 3 hours left, today we're having Samosa's and I can't wait :hmm: I needed to tell someone that don't know why.

Regrading the samosas I just read a poem about samosas yesterday......

Ohhhh Samosa

Ohhhh Samosa, how I love you samosa,
There you lie on the plate I just want you closer,
How crispy and delicate your pastry shell,
Pass the sauce, pass the dip, pass the chutney as well.

Ohhh Samosa not for me those funny pakoras,
Weird looking and jagged those savoury horrors,
with my appetite daily I wrestle and wrangle,
For you... my beloved pastry triangle.

Ohhh Samosa, to the "healthies" pay no heed,

So what if you're fried, you're just what I need,
A long day's fasting is no better broken,
Than a delicious samosa just cooked and smokin!

:haha: just kiddingggggggg.. falafel or as we call them in the old country طعمية
How_To_Eat_Falafel.jpg

You must share the recipe for the falafel=) Ive never had home made ones.

but the rest make it with chick peas except Egypt where it is mad of fava beans the original and the best..

Did you cook this? It looks good.

I never cook but when I attempt, I usually bake or make something sweet like cup cakes or crepes or pancakes.. I don't like frying food or the smell of food in general. Very turned off by the smell of fried foods and onions but I am trying to learn walhi making an honest effort to..:phew
