In memory of Marie Antoinette, "Well, let them drink Coke."
From Wiki: "Let them eat cake" is the traditional translation of the French phrase "Qu'ils mangent de la brioche", supposedly spoken by "a great princess" upon learning that the peasants had no bread. Since brioche was enriched, as opposed to normal bread, the quote supposedly would reflect the princess's obliviousness to the condition of the people.
Seriously, though you are right. There is no one I know that is more cognizant of the suffering of the people in Somalia and Kenya than is ukhti The Vale's Lily. I see nothing wrong in celebrating the blessings Allah has bestowed on us during this blessed month. We are blessed with an abundance of food and clean water while many people of the world have neither. For example, a while back I read about how the water in Bangladesh is contaminated with arsenic. We should remember to be thankful for all that we have and remember those who are less fortunate with prayers and what charity we can give.
