The first thing to do is find out what time Jummah will be. get to the Masjid about 30 minutes before then, simply tell the first Male (I am assuming you are male) you see that You are wanting to learn more about Islam and would he help you understand what to do in the Masjid. In all probability you will be highly welcomed.

The other option is to call the Imam and explain your reason for wanting to visit the Masjid. In that case all will be done to make you comfortable and most likely you will be given a chair to sit on. The interior of a Masjid is very empty and there is no furniture except sometimes chairs are brought out for visitors, the elderly and those with disabilities. Call first and most likely arraignments will be made to make your visit comfortable.

In either case with very few exceptions visitors are very welcome.

Thats really great news Truthseeker, I hope everything works out well for you. I wouldn't say you need to call/email, I am sure they will be happy enough to make time for you.

I think it would be better to call the mosque beforehand, to make sure that the Imam will be there when you turn up.

Once you make your shahada, please remember me and our big IB family in your du'a.

And when you have reverted, please do not stop asking your questions, Islam is a lifelong learning commitment.

Another thing, you need not wait until Friday to revert. You can do so right now by saying the Shahadah with sincerity.

If you can say the words:

Ashadu an la ilaha illa illa-ilah, wa ashadu anna muhammadan rasul ullah.

Th meaning is: "I testify that there is no god but God (Allah), and I testify that Muhammad is the messenger of God (Allah).

With sincerity and truly believe them you are a Muslim right now. As much of a Muslim as any of us and in some ways a much better one as at this moment you are a new born, free from all sin.

It only takes a few seconds to become a Muslim, but it is a lifetime to be one.

inshallah your reversion goes smoothly.

i would suggest you first ring or something just for some type of notification and in case the people at the mosque need to prepare themselves like maybe they want to make you a nice meal.

but Woodrow's idea is good as-well.

Like Woodrow said, you don't need to wait till tomorrow, you can testify now. About the Masjid issue, I'm pretty sure you will be welcomed, just please make sure the Masjid you go to has the right Aqeedah. :X

In the light of the above-mentioned definition of classes, it may be truly said that there has never been a class system in Islam. This can be clearly seen from the following facts:
There are no laws in Islam which aim at keeping the property in the hands of particular persons. The Holy Qur'an plainly says: ''In order that if may not merely make a circuit between the wealthy among you" (Iix: 7). Therefore, Islam made laws that ensured continual fragmentation and redistribution of wealth. According to the Islamic law of inheritance, inherited property should be distributed among a large number of persons.
An inheritance is never passed on to a single person except in the very rare case where such a person has no brothers, sisters or any other kindred. Even in such rare cases, Islam took the neces­sary precautions by prescribing that a portion of the inheritance should go to the deprived people who are not related to the dead man. This provision may be regarded as a predecessor of modern inheri­tance tax. The Holy Qur'an prescribed that "if at the time of division (of inheritance) other relatives or orphans or poor are present, feed them out of the (property) and speak to them words of kindness and justice" (iv : 8). It was in this way that Islam solved the problem resulting from the accumulation of property. Property goes to individuals as such and not as members of a particular class, because when they die the property will be redistributed according to new proportions. History bears witness that property in the Islamic society was constantly changing hands without being confined to a particular faction of the nation.

Are there any verses in the Quran and or the Hadith that say that the Moon is God's creation the Moon was and is created by God I ask this question because some Non Muslims claim that the God of Islam is a Moon God ?

Many verses in Quran describe the moon as a creature of God.Here are just some of them:

"And the moon We have determined mansions for till it returns like an old date-stalk, withered and curved;" Qur’an, 36:39.

" Your Sustainer is God, Who created the heavens and the earth is six days, and is firmly established on the Throne [of authority]; He draws the night as a veil over the day, each seeking the other in rapid succession; He created the sun, the moon, and the stars, [all] subject to His command. Is it not His to create and to command? Blessed by God, the Sustainer of All the Worlds!" Qur’an, 7:54.

"And He has made subject to you the sun and the moon, both diligently pursuing their courses; and the night and the day has He [also] made subject to you; * And He gives you of all that you ask for. But if you count the favours of God, never will you will able to number them." Qur’an, 14:32-4.

And of His signs are the night and day and the sun and moon. Do not prostrate to the sun or to the moon, but prostate to Allah, who created them, if it is in truth Him Whom you worship. (41:37)

And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all [heavenly bodies] in an orbit are swimming. (21:33)

[He is] the cleaver of daybreak and has made the night for rest and the sun and moon for calculation. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.(6:96)

It is He who made the sun a shining light and the moon a derived light and determined for it phases - that you may know the number of years and account [of time]. Allah has not created this except in truth. He details the signs for a people who know. (10:5)

Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon.(25:61)

If you asked them, "Who created the heavens and earth and subjected the sun and the moon?" they would surely say, "Allah." Then how are they deluded? (29:61)

Masha'Allah! I converted to Islam almost two years ago. I have never been happier! This is so great :) I am sure you will feel the same :D

The above replies are all well. When I first went to the Masjid, I did not call. I came on a Thursday because I did not want to go on Jummah (I was really shy), but I did anyways and it was amazing! Had I called though, I think I would of felt braver hahah XD

I was wondering the same thing as to whether I need to call first or just show up. I will definitely call first. I want to convert, but I have concerns. I do not have the right kind of clothes to wear everyday, and if I convert now, I feel I will be sinning until I wear the correct clothes. I have a couple of the scarves already, but am having a hard time finding a place to buy the dresses. And do the dresses need to be to the floor or above the ankles? And do I need to wear the hijab at home as well, or can I just wear a small scarf? Or can I go without one in the privacy of my own home? I have also tried to find someone that lives close to me that is Muslim, but have had no luck. Thank you for letting me ask all my questions. Sunnie

^ if you want those "long dresses" (i think you are referring to what called the "abaya")why not search online? =)
